2010 Waste Management Phoenix Open Tournament Chairman David Rauch announced today that Spain’s Alvaro Quiros received the fifth sponsor exemption for the 2010 Waste Management Phoenix Open. Billy Mayfair, Rickie Fowler, Jonathan Kaye and Rocco Mediate received the first four tournament exemptions. Rauch and the tournament host Thunderbirds will hand out a total of eight sponsor exemptions for the tournament.
The tournament host Thunderbirds have raised more than $65.9 million for charities, with more than $37.9 million generated since 2004. This year the tournament will be played between Thursday Feb 25 and Sunday Feb 28, 2010. The venue will be the TPC Scottsdale, Scottsdale, Arizona.
The 2010 edition will mark the 75th playing of the event, making it one of the five oldest events on the PGA TOUR (not including the major championships).
