The PGA Barclays Professional Golf Tournament is coming up this August 27th and will last until August the 30, 2009. The venue will be the beautiful Liberty National Golf Course located in Jersey City, New Jersey. The whole tournament has a purse of $7.5 Million with a winner share of $1,350,000 which makes this tournament a really good option to participate on.

The field gas 7400 yards long and contains one of the most beautiful views of the Liberty Statue. This is one of the attributes that this championship has to offer. The purse is one of the bigger ones among all the tournaments and that is why this championship is very attractive for all the professional players.

As a little brief of last year performance we can recall that Vijay Singh beat Sergio Garcia and Kevin Sutherland in a playoff to capture the first PGA TOUR Playoff event at Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, N.J. Singh made a do-or-die birdie putt on the first playoff hole after Garcia sank a birdie putt just a bit longer as Sutherland was eliminated. Singh two-putted for birdie on the second playoff hole to capture the title.
